Overview

Gosaikunda is one of Nepal’s holiest lakes — sacred to Lord Shiva and the site of a massive annual pilgrimage during Janai Purnima. This 7-day trek from Dhunche takes you through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests to the sacred lake at 4,380m, where legend says Shiva pierced the mountain with his trident to create a water source.

For Indian pilgrims and trekkers, Gosaikunda combines spiritual significance with stunning Himalayan scenery. The trek is accessible from Kathmandu without flights.
