The itinerary

    Day 1

    Fly to Lukla

    Scenic mountain flight, gentle trek to Phakding along the Dudh Koshi.

  2. 2
    Day 2

    Namche Bazaar

    Cross suspension bridges into the Sherpa capital; first glimpse of Everest.

  3. 3
    Day 3

    Acclimatise

    Hike to the Everest View Hotel for breakfast with the giants; afternoon at leisure.

  4. 4
    Day 4

    Tengboche Monastery

    Trek to the spiritual heart of the Khumbu; attend evening prayers.

  5. 5
    Day 5

    Panorama day

    Sunrise over Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam from the monastery meadow.

    Day 6

    Return to Namche

    Descend through rhododendron forest; celebratory dinner.

    Back to Lukla

    Final trekking day retracing the valley.
