Ngozumpa Glacier

Nepal's longest glacier grinds 36 kilometres down from Cho Oyu — a grey, groaning river of ice and rubble that the Gokyo trail rides alongside for days.

Cross it once (the route to Cho La does) and you understand the Himalaya's scale differently: melt-pools like small lakes, ice cliffs the size of buildings, and the constant tick of moving stone.
